I’ve been thinking about a new theme and look for this site. If only it were as easy as finding furniture that I like.

2012 is here and it ís time for some changes. You have always wished that you had a home that made an impact and your guests would remember. It ís time to make it happen.
One of the more interesting and beautiful designs you will ever see is that of an old pub or bistro. The chaos of it all is what makes the design so interesting. In contrast, there are lots of steak houses and burger joints that have decided to tack random junk to the walls and call it cool. That is the exact opposite of what you want so make sure you don’t tread into that territory. Don’t buy bar stools that look like they came out of an old pub. Try to get bar stools that actually came out of an old pub.
Start with the kitchen and dining area. Copper, glass and porcelain should be included in every kitchen. A good number of full wine bottles on display in a wine rack look classy. Antique glass bottles will give your home a feeling that it has history. This isn’t your college trophy rack so ditch the 40oz bottles. You want to give a sense that debates on philosophy; arts and politics were being whispered and barked between bar stools, within these walls while your grandfather was still a boy.
The bar stool is an iconic piece of furniture that should be in every pub. Your home shouldn’t look like a super high class joint but it shouldn’t look like a bar in the slums. Use wood and leather for the bar stools, if possible, no matter what the rest of you design is.
It ís time to look at decoration. Antique maps, vintage liquor advertisement and unframed prints on canvas should all b considerations. Remember, you want the appearance of disorder that has been carefully laid out. You want it to look like every piece is close to matching but not quite there. Have a story to tell about each piece on the walls and make a new one every time you tell it.
